MANOR HOUSE

The Manor House was designed and built in 1916 by the prestigious local architect M.S. Davis for Charles T. Hudson and his wife. The original blue prints hang on the wall like a window in time, a gift from a former owner.

The newly remodeled front porch was rebuilt to reflect the original plan with a Juliette balcony, just perfect for bridal photos. There are oversized dressing rooms for the entire wedding party.  Gentlemen have recliners and cable TV, the Ladies have a full length trifold mirror and en suite bath with lighted make up station for their convenience.

THE COVERED VERANDA

Surrounded by flowering trees and manicured boxwoods, our lovely outdoor Veranda is covered and shaded for your comfort.  In warmer months, the fans will be spinning, the Edison lighting in the mature crepe myrtles will be lit and the perfume of so many flowering shrubs and flowers excite your senses. If using this area as your Ceremony site, the adjoining  Grand Ballroom  gives the Bridal party the option of entering through the ballroom or from the Chapel, depending on the weather. Enjoy almost 75 acres of privacy, with lake & pastoral views and picturesque gardens.

THE CHAPEL

Experience the comfort of a climate controlled wedding, rain or shine in the Chapel.  With over 2000 sq ft, the Chapel can seat from 20 - 180 guests with plenty of room for a large bridal party.  Depending on the weather, the windows can be opened to let the sound of birds and a sweet scented cross breeze in.  You and your guests will love the lake view completing the "outdoors in" feeling.

Relax in knowing that your wedding may use the Chapel as a back up site to the Garden, no extra fee.

All are welcome to celebrate here.  Select something of ours to put in the niches (wooden crosses, lanterns, etc) or bring something of your own. Florists touches are a beautiful addition as well.

Did you know we are the only historic venue in North Carolina to have a Chapel on site?  It's the perfect year round indoor option for a ceremony.  Toasty in the Winter, oh so cool in the Summer and always dry!
